ASAP MedCare Uganda Limited

Closing the gap between quality medicine and the patients who need it.

ASAP MedCare distributes differentiated pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer healthcare products across Uganda and East Africa — sourced against real clinical need, not just what’s already on the shelf.

Why ASAP MedCare

Distribution decisions made at the bedside, not the border.

We are a small, deliberate house. What we carry, we can defend — clinically, commercially and in front of a regulator.

01

Built by clinicians, not just traders

Our product calls are made by people who have prescribed, dispensed and explained these medicines — so the brief starts with the patient, not the margin.

02

Evidence before inventory

Dossiers, trial data and comparator analysis are reviewed before a purchase order exists. If the evidence is thin, we pass — however good the terms.

03

Regulatory-first

National Drug Authority requirements shape the timeline from day one: registration, labelling, storage and pharmacovigilance planned together, not retrofitted.

04

Regional ambition

Uganda is the proving ground. The structures we are building — compliance, cold chain, detailing — are designed to carry a brand across East Africa.

How We Work

Source. Register. Distribute.

Three steps, run in sequence, with the same team accountable from the manufacturer’s factory gate to the dispensing counter.

  1. Step 01

    Source

We partner directly with manufacturers — no broker layers — and audit quality systems, GMP status and supply reliability before we commit to a market.

  2. Step 02

    Register

We prepare and carry the National Drug Authority dossier ourselves, holding the registration, the import permits and the post-market obligations that follow it.

  3. Step 03

    Distribute

Stock reaches pharmacies, hospitals and clinics with clinical detailing attached, so the prescriber understands the product as well as the buyer does.

Quality & Compliance

What a regulator, a hospital and a manufacturer each need to see.

Distribution is a licensed activity, not a logistics one. These are the obligations we hold ourselves to on every line we carry — and the records we can produce on request.

Market authorisation

We hold the National Drug Authority registration for every product we import, and we keep it current. The registration sits with us — not with an agent you cannot reach.

Storage & cold chain

Stock is held under the conditions its dossier specifies, with temperature monitoring and a documented procedure for excursions. Cold chain lines are handled as cold chain lines.

Batch traceability

Every consignment is traceable to batch and expiry — from the manufacturer's release certificate through import clearance to the delivery note signed at your door.

Pharmacovigilance

Adverse event reports are captured, investigated and forwarded to both the National Drug Authority and the manufacturer. Reporting is a condition of carrying a product, not a favour.

Complaints & recall

A product complaint reaches a named person the same working day. Because we hold batch records end to end, a recall can be scoped to the affected consignment rather than the market.

Documentation on request

Certificates of analysis, batch release documents, import permits and storage records — assembled for tender submissions and audits without a three-week wait.

Partners

Two sides of the same obligation.

A manufacturer needs someone accountable inside the market. A hospital needs supply it can plan a year around. We are the same company to both.

For manufacturers

If your product belongs in this market, we will tell you honestly — and if it does, we will carry it properly.

  • A registration holder accountable in-market, under Ugandan law
  • Dossier preparation and National Drug Authority submission
  • Import permits, customs clearance and release
  • Clinical detailing to the prescribers who decide
  • Market feedback and pharmacovigilance reporting back to you

For hospitals & pharmacies

You should not have to choose between a product you trust and a supplier who turns up.

  • Registered products, with the documentation already attached
  • Planned lead times you can build a procurement cycle around
  • Clinical detailing and product training for your team
  • Batch and expiry traceable on every delivery
  • One accountable contact — not a call centre

About

A Ugandan company, built for the decade ahead.

ASAP MedCare Uganda Limited was founded in 2020 in Kampala to do one thing properly: bring products into this market because a clinical need justifies them. We work with manufacturers who want a partner accountable for registration and reputation, and with hospitals and pharmacies who need supply they can plan around.

Five therapeutic verticals are in active development, each with its own evidence file, regulatory path and detailing plan. We would rather hold a short, defensible portfolio than a long, borrowed one.

Questions

Asked before every first order.

If your procurement team needs something not covered here, ask us directly — a vague answer at this stage is a problem later.

Are your products registered with the National Drug Authority?

Yes. We do not supply a pharmaceutical product into the Ugandan market before its registration is in place, and we hold that registration ourselves. Where a product is mid-registration we will say so plainly and give you the expected timeline rather than an optimistic one.

Can you provide documentation for a tender submission?

Certificates of analysis, batch release documentation, import permits, registration certificates and storage records. Tell us the tender deadline when you ask — assembling a complete pack takes us days, not weeks, but it is not instant.

What are your lead times?

Lines held in stock in Kampala ship on the normal delivery cycle. Products ordered against a forecast depend on the manufacturer's production and shipping schedule, and we will give you that date in writing before you commit. We would rather quote a longer date and meet it.

Do you handle cold chain products?

Yes, under monitored conditions with documented excursion handling. If a consignment breaches its temperature range in transit, it does not get quietly delivered — it is quarantined and investigated.

Do you supply outside Kampala?

We supply across Uganda, with delivery frequency to upcountry facilities agreed as part of the supply terms rather than promised in general. Regional East African supply is being built deliberately, market by market, as registrations allow.

We are a manufacturer. What do you need from us to start?

The product dossier, your GMP certification and manufacturing licence, available clinical and comparator data, and an indication of supply capacity. We review before we discuss commercial terms, because the evidence decides whether there are terms to discuss.
